JESUS' MIRACLES (8)

0. Introduction

a) John and the other Gospel writers were able to record only a fraction of the people who were touched and healed by Jesus. But enough of Jesus' words and works have been saved so that we also might be able to know him and be his disciples in this day. There follows a listing of the miracles (35 of them) that are included in the Gospels. They were supernatural events that pointed people to God, and they were acts of love by One who is love.

1. Peter's mother-in-law healed.

a) Matthew 8:14-17

i) 14 Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. 15 So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them.

16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: He Himself took our infirmities, And bore our sicknesses.” (Matthew 8:14-17 NKJV)

b) Other Gospel references

i) Mark: 1:29-31

ii) Luke: 4:38-39
