0. Introduction

a) All four books in the Bible that tell the story of Jesus Christ - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John - stand alone, emphasizing a unique aspect of Jesus' life. But when these are blended into one complete account, or harmonized, we gain new insights into the life of Christ.

III. Events: Death & Resurrection of Jesus Christ

1. The council of religious leaders condemns Jesus.

a) Matthew 27:1-2

i) When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people plotted against Jesus to put Him to death. ² And when they had bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor. (Matthew 27:1-2 NKJV)
