DISCOVER BIBLE | SAUL & DAVID

1. Introduction

a) The Bible is full of wonderful stories and special truth. What we want to do is to discover the Bible.  

b) Psalm 119:11 says, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You." 

c) Nurture and grow your understanding of the Bible as you read and discover the Bible.  

2. David's attitude toward Saul.

a) David recognized Saul as God's appointed man. JHWH alone should remove him! Anointing guaranteed God's aid, but not success. Success depended upon the choice of a man to appropriate the aid of God!

3. Saul: A man who would not depend on God.

a) Poor judgment (wisdom comes from God).

b) Jealousy.

c) Fear.

d) Despair.

e) Suicide.

4. David: A man with a heart for God. 

 a) Lust, yes... but always a heart for God.

b) Response to God's chastening.

c) Restoration.
