DISCOVER BIBLE | 1 KINGS 1-4 (1 CHRONICLES 22-29)
1. Introduction
a) The Bible is full of wonderful stories and special truth. What we want to do is to discover the Bible.
b) Psalm 119:11 says, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You."
c) Nurture and grow your understanding of the Bible as you read and discover the Bible.

@1. In order to help you correlate these sections of scripture, we are going to parallel portions of each book which cover the same events.
@2. As you study in this way, you will begin to see how the different emphases of the writers directed their choice of materials.
a) 1 Kings 1-4:
i) The last days of David - 1 Kings 1:1-2:11.
ii) Abishag ministers to David - 1 Kings 1:1-4.
iii) Adonijah usurps the throne - 1 Kings 1:5-31.
iv) Solomon appointed king - 1 Kings 1:32-40.
v) Adonijah's reaction - 1 Kings 1:41-53.
vi) David charges Solomon - 1 Kings 2:1-9.
vii) The death of David - 1 Kings 2:10-18.
viii) The beginning of the reign of Solomon - 1 Kings 2:19-4:34.
ix) He ascends the throne - 1 Kings 2:12.
x) He removes his enemies - 1 Kings 2:13-3:2.
xi) He prays for wisdom - 1 Kings 3:3-28.
