2. Abishai

a) Abishai was the eldest son of Zeruiah, who was King David's sister.

b) He was the brother of Joab and Asahel (2 Samuel 2:18). He was one of David's most accomplished men (2 Samuel 23:18; 1 Chronicles 11:20). He helped David in the fight with Ishbi-Benob, the giant. (2 Samuel 21:16-17). He maintained an unswerving loyalty to David during the rebellion of Absalom.
