BIBLICAL VIEW | ABORTION (1)

1. Introduction

"I am a pregnant  teenager - What can I do?"

a) We cannot solve our problems using the same old information and thought process that created the problem in the first place...all that does is repeat failure.

b) You have a problem that can be addressed correctly or destructively.

c) After the shock of your pregnancy, realize that your emotions may betray you, and that your mind may consider that "aborting the baby" will eliminate your problem.

d) The truth is that many other problems will emerge...

2. When does life begin?

a) There are three points of view

i) Life begins at conception

ii) Life begins at birth

iii) Life begins somewhere in between these two points

b) Facts

i) Just 21 days after conception the baby's heart is beating

ii) At 6 weeks, brain waves can be measured...

iii) At 8 weeks, the stomach, liver, kidneys and brain are functioning and fingerprints have formed.

c) The doctor was shocked as he was about to abort this baby. The baby reached out and grabbed his finger. The doctor did not perform the abortion...

3. Is the baby in the womb alive?

a) Let's hear what GOD has to say...

Jeremiah 1:4-5 New International Version (NIV)

The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
    before you were born I set you apart;
    I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

 Psalm 139:13-16 New International Version (NIV)

13 For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.

b) Sounds like GOD is definitely involved in everything that happens to us!
