1. Bible Verses and Quotes

a) Lying is a huge issue for many people, as it is one of the ten commandments, but even Christians have trouble with this commandment.

i) Proverbs 14:5

A truthful witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.

ii) Proverbs 17:7

Arrogant lips are unsuited to a fool-- how much worse lying lips to a ruler!

iii) Hosea 11:12

Ephraim has surrounded me with lies, the house of Israel with deceit. And Judah is unruly against God, even against the faithful Holy One.

iv) Zephaniah 3:13

The remnant of Israel will do no wrong; they will speak no lies, nor will deceit be found in their mouths. They will eat and lie down and no one will make them afraid."

v) John 8:44
