HIS SERVANTS THE PROPHETS

(Message by Tanny Keng)

1. His Servants The Prophets

Amos 3:7 (NKJV)
7 Surely the Lord God does nothing,
Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.

a) "His servant" suggests a man of characters. A man of God seemingly having characteristics of love in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Whereas "His prophet" suggests a What and not a Who. It is not a job or a title. It is a function (or role). Likewise a man may function as a father in a family; an employee in an organisation; a citizen in a country where there are rules, regulations and laws. A prophet functions with the prophetic in an office. He prophesies most often and with accuracy and results. Others may prophesies once a while but not in the office of a prophet.

b) The purpose of a prophecy is not for self-exhortation, self-performance or money seeking. It is meant to edify, exhort,  and comfort others (1 Corinthians 14:3). It adds value to the person receiving it. So, function the prophetic with love as the Spirit distributing to each one individually as He wills (1 Corinthians 12:11). A prophet is liken an office boy, doing errands receiving and sending. He is an intermediary or ambassador representing the King. Amen!

c) What shall happen when you receive a prophet in a name of a prophet. You shall receive a prophet's reward (Matthew 10:41). Whatever reward the prophet can receive from God, you would also enjoy it. That's why you should honor him because he speaks on God's behalf as he were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21).

The End ...
