KNOW YOUR GIFTING

1. Know Your Gifting

a) God is good! He has given the 5-fold ministry for his church, the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11). Its purpose is for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for edifying of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12).

b) Out of these 5 ministering gifts, two (pastor and teacher) should remain in their own church most of the time whereas the other three (apostle, prophet and evangelist) ought to be outside their own church for ministry.

c) If your calling is either an apostle or a prophet or an evangelist and you find yourself ministering most of the time in your own church, then you need to seriously re-examine whether that is your true calling God has for you.

d) That's the reason why God has given some apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers in that order.

e) The above gifts have its own importance and each gift performs the way the Holy Spirit determines. There is no hierarchical nature for these gifts. They are dependent on each other.
