2. Pray Bible Promises

a) Proverbs 17:4 King James Version (KJV)

4 A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that someone who is wicked gives heed to false lips, and a liar gives ear to a spiteful tongue.

Lord God, cause me to disregard evil and spiteful speech, but incline my ear to wisdom.

b) Proverbs 17:5 King James Version (KJV)

5 Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who mock the poor are a reproach to You who made them, and you take personally the mistreatment of them.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who are glad at others calamities, will not go unpunished.

Lord God, cause me to consider the poor, to help them, and not be glad when calamity overcomes a foe.
