0. Introduction
a) What is the FIRST resurrection of the dead taught in the Bible? When does it occur? Who is in it? What did Jesus teach about it? What is the order in which the dead are resurrected? In Hebrews 6 we find one the foundational doctrines of Christianity - the resurrection.
1. Jesus' teachings
a) In Luke 14 Jesus teaches us that at the time of the resurrection of the just, He will repay or reward Christians for their works in this life. At the sound of the seventh or last trumpet when the resurrection happens (1Thessalonians 4:14-17), Jesus will return and will reward the servants, prophets and saints of God (Luke 14:12-14).
b) At His return Jesus will bring a reward, which He gives to the Saints based upon their works during this life:

"Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment." (Hebrews 6:1-2).b) In this we will examine what happens, in God's great plan, to those who die faithful to God.

For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. (Matthew 16)
"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according to his work." (Revelation 22:12)c) Jesus will reward Christians with authority to rule as kings under Him after His return (Revelation 1:5-6; 5:10; 2:25-27; 3:21; 20:1-6; Matthew 25:14-30; Luke 19:11-27).
