WELCOME TO RECEIVE A REWARD
1. Welcome To Receive A Reward
a) Matthew 10:41 NIV
"[41] Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person's reward."
i) The manner you welcome (receive) the person will receive that person's reward.
b) What is the primary difference?
i) The primary difference between the righteous man's reward and the prophet's reward is that the righteous man receives a reward according to the established word of God while the prophet receives a reward according to the present word of God. The prophet's reward is the fulfillment of the prophesied word.
c) Why is it so important to welcome his servant, the man of God?
i) God had given gifts to the church. Whatever gifts or ministry his servant, the man of God has, that will he impart .
ii) If you don't receive him, you may lose the benefits of the prophet or the righteous person brings.
iii) Having said that, you need make sure that the person you are welcoming is not a fake or teaches heresy.
iv) If you welcome him, you indeed welcome Christ and in doing so, you welcome God the Father.
