THE FIRST LOVE
1. The First Love
a) Most of us would remember our first love vividly when we first accepted Christ as our Savior.
b) We are ever more willing to do anything for Christ. We cherish that moment, that awesome experience that we have never encountered before. Everything we do we put Christ first in our lives.
c) We can endure storms, the heartaches, the pains, the ridicules. We can't be bothered what others say. We only persist just to do one thing i.e. to show our love for Christ.
d) As time passes, we become comfortable, our first love seems to grow cold. We no longer are excited over the things we have done before. Now we even become judgemental and stop others from growing and advancing in the Kingdom. We have actually become, in the eyes of God, an "enemy" to him.
e) That's why God has something against us just because we have allowed our first love to grow cold.
i) Revelation 2:4-5 TLB
"[4] "Yet there is one thing wrong; you don't love me as at first! [5] Think about those times of your first love (how different now!) and turn back to me again and work as you did before; or else I will come and remove your candlestick from its place among the churches."
