CONTENTMENT
1. Contentment
a) He might live a thousand years twice over but still not find contentment. And since he must die like everyone else — well, what’s the use? (Ecclesiastes 6:6 NLT)
b) KJV says 'yet hath he seen no good' refers to 'but still not find contentment.'
c) What is contentment? It is the state of being contented; satisfaction; ease of mind.
d) What was Paul secret of contentment?
@1. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. (Philippians 4:12 NLT)
e) You would find soon enough that whatever you have, it is not enough.
@1. Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness! The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers! (Ecclesiastes 5:10-11 NLT)
f) So, the key to true happiness in every situation in your life is to apply the secret of contentment advocated by Paul.
g) Having said that it does not necessarily mean that you don't do anything when favorable opportunities come along your way. Even for this, you need to evaluate the risk factors as they may make or break your contentment.
h) So you need to see the good of everything or every situation you are in. Then, you will find contentment! The best way is to see JESUS in it!
