WHAT KIND OF A HEART IS GOD LOOKING FOR TODAY?

1. What Kind Of Heart Is God Looking For Today?

a) Deuteronomy 10:16 says “God needs a circumcised heart”. We must therefore open our hearts to God by removing all reservations, coverings, secrets and unbelief. Only when we circumcise our hearts, can we be obedient and walk in the ways of the Lord.

b) Our heart is designed in such a way that it can grow any type of seed either good or bad.

c) The Bible talks about the heart around 946 times… That's alot.

d) When we look at David’s prayer in Psalm 51:10-12, he cries out to God to create in him a clean / pure heart, because he knows that without a pure heart he cannot please God or have a right relationship with Him.

e) Proverbs 4:23 says, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” In other words, do your utmost to keep your heart pure, because you are your heart – all of your life comes from your heart.

f) So, what kind of a heart is God looking for today? God likes a heart which:

1. Serves Him – Deuteronomy 11:13.

2. Loves Him – Deuteronomy 30:6; Matthew 22:37.

3. Keeps His Word – Deuteronomy 26:16.

4. Follows Him – 1 Kings 14:8.

5. Seeks Him – 2 Chronicles 15:12.

6. Praises Him – Psalm 86:12.

7. Trusts Him – Proverbs 3:5.

8. Believes Him – Romans 10:9, 10.

g) I believe God is saying, “I have found a man who cares about the things I care about, when I turn to the right he turns to right and when I turn to left he turns with me."

h) David sought the Lord with all His heart and God testified concerning him “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, he will do anything I want him to do.”  (Acts 13:22)

i) How is your heart today? Is it evil, mischievous, foolish, hard, deceitful, corrupted or proud?

Matthew 12:34
For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.

j) Our mind is where our heart is… where is your heart today?

Jeremiah 17:10
I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.

k) There can be no such thing as becoming a new creation (born again) without the purification of heart. Seek the Lord with all your heart and He will be found by you.
