AND, I HOPE YOU CATCH IT!

1. And, I Hope You Catch It!

a) The Bible is about 611,000 words long, all divided up across 66 smaller documents called the “books” of the Bible (Old Testament 39; New Testament 27). That’s because the Bible is a collection of writings from different authors writing at different times.

b) The Bible itself is a book. In fact, the word “bible” comes from the Latin and Greek words for “book” (biblia and biblos, respectively). But it’s a book of books.

c) If you want to know the Bible better, you’ll need to get acquainted with the 66 documents it comprises. This book is sufficient for every believer in Christ.

d) Many a time, some believers want to know more outside the Bible. They seek for new revelations, new ideas and anything new that could bring excitement to their learning. That's not wrong but there is a Bible complete by itself. Nothing more can be added or nothing more can be taken away!

e) The fact is that believers hardly know the Bible generally. They pick up here and there and if you were to ask them whether they know the entire Bible, they could hardly answer your question!

f) Nowadays we find most churches seldom teach the entire Bible to their flock. The shepherds teach what they know and what they are comfortable with. Most messages are rather topical in nature. That's why we can't blame them for not knowing the entire Bible.

g) It is the responsibility of a believer in Christ to read the entire Bible. It's not easy to understand all of it but at least you have tried! We can't really depends on a single church to help us fully understand the entire Bible.

h) There's a saying, "Don't put all your eggs in one basket!" This is a piece of advice which means that one should not concentrate all efforts and resources in one area as one could lose everything. That's why you must not be satisfied and you go beyond to do something for your own good.

i)There's online study you can embark on during this pandemic season. Choose one that will cover the entire Bible. There are a few in the market. Even though the course may not be in depth but at least you could get a panoramic view of each book of the Bible.

j) It is the responsibility of a teacher to make learning easy, simple, interesting and sometime fun for the class to enjoy the entire course!

k) And, I hope you catch it!
