1. What are "Miracles"?

a) Miracles are those acts that only God can perform; usually superseding natural laws. Baker’s Dictionary of the Bible defines a miracle as “an event in the external world brought about by the immediate agency or the simple volition of God.” It goes on to add that a miracle occurs to show that the power behind it is not limited to the laws of matter or mind as it interrupts fixed natural laws. So the term supernatural applies quite accurately.

b) Miracles are also known as Signs and Wonders.

c) Here we have one of the 124 miracles recorded in the Bible.

2. Miracle 67: MIND-READING PROPHECIES—Ben Hadad’s secret plans discovered. Hazael’s thoughts, etc., through the prophecies of Elijah (2 Kings 6:12). 

a) Ben-Hadad's secret plans discovered.

b) Ben-Hadad.

i) The standing title of the Syrian kings, meaning “the son of Hadad.”

ii) The name of three biblical kings…

@1. The king of Syria whom Asa, king of Judah, employed to invade Israel (1 Kings 15:18).

@2. Son of the preceding, also king of Syria. He was long engaged in war against Israel. He was murdered probably by Hazael, by whom he was succeeded (2 Kings 8:7-15), after a reign of some thirty years.

@3. King of Damascus, and successor of his father Hazael on the throne of Syria (2 Kings 13:3, 4). His misfortunes in war are noticed by Amos (1:4).
