A TIDE IS COMING!

A Response to "A Tide Is Coming!"

Reading the Spiritual Tide

Tide direction is an important element for any swimmer, boater, or water sports enthusiast to consider before venturing out to the ocean. The difference between swimming with the tide and against it can mean the difference between safety and danger, progress and exhaustion. But it is not always easy to tell which direction the tide is heading. The water can appear calm and still, yet beneath the surface, powerful currents are already shifting. However, you can tell if the tide is coming in or out when the Almighty God chooses to reveal it to His people. When He does, it is primarily for the welfare of His own people. He always does. God does not leave His people to navigate the currents of history on their own. He reveals what is coming. He prepares them for the shifts. He gives them advance warning so they can position themselves accordingly.

God's Tide Table

You can tell if the tide is coming in or out by reading a local tide table, since they list the predicted times that the tide will be highest and lowest. God has His own tide table. He reveals it to His servants, the prophets. Amos 3:7 declares, "For the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets." God is not a God who hides His plans from His people. He is a God who speaks, who warns, who guides, and who prepares. He gives His prophets insight into the shifting tides of history so that His people can be ready. The prophets are not fortune-tellers; they are watchmen. They are not predictors of random events; they are revealers of God's purposes. And when they speak, they are not sharing their own opinions; they are declaring what they have seen in the Spirit.

The Tide Is Coming

Here is a loud cry: The tide is coming! The tide is coming! It has already shifted its position. It is coming in a force unimaginable! Many people would imagine it to be bad. But know this: it is a good tide. It is coming to turn around the landscapes and to shape the way it should be. Many people shall be affected by it. Many people shall rejoice. For there is a shaping, a reversing, a turning around of all that have beset, of all that have put the people in misery. The tide that is coming is not a tide of destruction but of restoration. It is not a flood of judgment but of renewal. It is not a wave of despair but of hope. God is shifting the spiritual currents. He is moving in ways that will surprise many. He is turning things around. What has been out of order is being realigned. What has been broken is being restored. What has been stagnant is being stirred.

The Direction of the Tide

In the time that the tide shifts from its lowest point to its highest point, the tide comes in. The tide goes out during the other time intervals. The tide is coming in. The low point is behind us. The high point is ahead. The water is rising. The landscape is changing. The old boundaries are being submerged. The new contours are being shaped. This is not a time to resist the tide; it is a time to ride the tide. It is not a time to fear the change; it is a time to embrace it. It is not a time to cling to the old; it is a time to move with the new. God is doing something fresh. He is moving in a new way. And those who are sensitive to His Spirit will see it and move with it.

The Privilege of Knowing

Fortunately, as Christians, we have the privilege to know ahead of time when the tide is coming. We are not left in the dark. We are not blindsided by the shifts of history. We have the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and the prophets to guide us. We have prayer and discernment to help us read the signs of the times. We have the promise that God reveals His secrets to those who fear Him. So let us not be caught off guard. Let us not be swept away by surprise. Let us be watchful, prayerful, and ready. The tide is coming. And we have been given advance notice.

Rejoice and Do Not Be Anxious

The tide is coming, and the appropriate response is not fear but faith. Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. The tide is coming, but we do not need to be anxious. We do not need to be afraid. We need to pray. We need to give thanks. We need to trust. And we need to rejoice. The tide is a sign of God's movement. It is a sign of His faithfulness. It is a sign of His coming restoration. And for that, we can rejoice.

Final Reflection

The tide is coming. It has already shifted. It is moving with force and purpose. It is turning landscapes and shaping the way things should be. Many will be affected, but many will rejoice. The Lord is at hand. Do not be anxious. Rejoice. Pray. Give thanks. And let the peace of God guard your heart and mind. The tide is coming, and it is a good tide.

Prayer for the Coming Tide

Lord, I thank You that You reveal Your secrets to Your servants. I thank You that You do not leave us in the dark but give us advance warning of the shifting tides. Help me to read the signs of the times. Help me to move with Your Spirit and not resist what You are doing. The tide is coming, and I choose to rejoice. I will not be anxious. I will pray. I will give thanks. And I will trust in Your peace to guard my heart and mind. Let the tide of Your Spirit turn landscapes and restore what has been broken. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
