2 TIMOTHY 1:9-10

“He has saved us and called us to a holy life — not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” - 2 Timothy 1:9-10

Most of us spend 60% or more of our lives working. The right job can give us opportunities to use our unique gifts and abilities to make a positive difference in the world. Being in the wrong job can be agonizing, affecting every area of our life.

Francis Xavier was a renowned Catholic missionary and co-founder of the Society of Jesus, also known as the Jesuits. He is best known for his extensive missionary work in Asia, particularly in India, Japan, and parts of Southeast Asia. Throughout his missionary journeys, he faced immense hardships and dangers, including harsh living conditions, cultural barriers, and political unrest. However, his unwavering faith and commitment to his calling enabled him to persevere. He is remembered as one of the greatest missionaries in history and as a symbol of selfless devotion to serving others in the name of Christ.

2 Timothy 1:9-10 emphasises that our salvation is not something we can earn but is a result of God's grace and purpose. This grace was predestined and ultimately revealed through Jesus Christ, who conquered death and offers us eternal life. It is a reminder of God's unconditional love and the hope we have in Him through the gospel.
