CHAPTER 5 : STATEMENT OF FAITH
CHAPTER 5
STATEMENT OF FAITH OF SUNSHINE DESTINY COMMUNICATIONS (SDC)
"Contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints."
— Jude 3 (ESV)
5.1 Introduction
The Statement of Faith expresses the biblical doctrines that form the theological foundation of Sunshine Destiny Communications (SDC). It serves as the doctrinal standard for the ministry's leadership, educational programmes, publications, digital resources, partnerships, and ministry activities.
This Statement of Faith is not intended to replace the Holy Scriptures but to summarize the essential biblical truths that SDC affirms and teaches. All ministry practices, policies, and teachings shall be consistent with the authority and sufficiency of God's Word.
Leaders, staff, volunteers, educators, and affiliated ministries are expected to uphold these doctrines faithfully in both belief and practice.
5.2 The Holy Scriptures
We believe that the Holy Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.
The Scriptures are God's complete revelation for salvation, doctrine, Christian living, and ministry.
The Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
Key Scriptures:
- 2 Timothy 3:16–17
- Psalm 119:105
- Hebrews 4:12
- 2 Peter 1:20–21
5.3 The One True God
We believe there is one true and living God who eternally exists in three Persons:
- God the Father
- God the Son
- God the Holy Spirit
These three Persons are co-equal, co-eternal, and one in essence.
God is holy, righteous, sovereign, eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, and worthy of all worship.
Key Scriptures:
- Deuteronomy 6:4
- Matthew 28:19
- John 1:1–3
- 2 Corinthians 13:14
5.4 The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed mighty works, died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return personally in power and glory.
Jesus Christ alone is Lord, Savior, Mediator, and King.
Salvation is found in no one else.
Key Scriptures:
- John 1:1–14
- Matthew 1:18–25
- Romans 5:8
- 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
- Acts 1:9–11
- Acts 4:12
5.5 The Holy Spirit
We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, indwells every Christian, empowers for holy living and Christian service, distributes spiritual gifts according to His sovereign will, and produces spiritual fruit in the lives of believers.
The Holy Spirit always glorifies Jesus Christ and never contradicts the written Word of God.
Key Scriptures:
- John 14:16–17
- John 16:7–15
- Romans 8:9–16
- Galatians 5:22–23
- 1 Corinthians 12:4–11
5.6 Humanity
We believe that all human beings are created in the image of God and therefore possess inherent dignity and value.
Through Adam's disobedience, sin entered the world, and all people became sinners by nature and by choice.
Because of sin, humanity is separated from God and cannot save itself.
Every person is in need of God's grace through Jesus Christ.
Key Scriptures:
- Genesis 1:26–27
- Romans 3:23
- Romans 5:12
- Ephesians 2:1–5
5.7 Salvation
We believe that salvation is entirely by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
No one can earn salvation through good works, religious rituals, personal merit, or human effort.
Those who repent of their sins and place their faith in Jesus Christ receive forgiveness, justification, adoption into God's family, and eternal life.
Saving faith results in a transformed life characterized by obedience and spiritual growth.
Key Scriptures:
- John 3:16
- Ephesians 2:8–9
- Titus 3:5
- Romans 10:9–10
- 2 Corinthians 5:17
5.8 The Church
We believe that the universal Church consists of all true believers in Jesus Christ.
Christ is the Head of the Church.
The local church is God's primary instrument for worship, discipleship, fellowship, evangelism, and ministry.
Sunshine Destiny Communications exists to serve and strengthen the wider Body of Christ and is not established as a local church congregation. Rather, it functions as a ministry platform that complements the ministry of Bible-believing churches through education, publications, leadership development, communication, and community engagement.
Key Scriptures:
- Matthew 16:18
- Ephesians 1:22–23
- Ephesians 4:11–16
- Hebrews 10:24–25
5.9 The Ordinances
We affirm the two ordinances instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ:
Baptism
Water baptism is an outward testimony of inward faith in Jesus Christ. It symbolizes the believer's identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
The Lord's Supper
The Lord's Supper is a memorial of Christ's sacrificial death and a proclamation of His saving work until He returns.
Participation should be approached with reverence, self-examination, and gratitude.
Key Scriptures:
- Matthew 28:19–20
- Romans 6:3–4
- 1 Corinthians 11:23–29
5.10 The Christian Life
We believe that every believer is called to live a holy life that reflects the character of Jesus Christ.
Spiritual growth is nurtured through:
- Prayer.
- Bible study.
- Worship.
- Fellowship.
- Obedience.
- Evangelism.
- Service.
- Dependence upon the Holy Spirit.
Believers should demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in their relationships and conduct.
Key Scriptures:
- Romans 12:1–2
- Galatians 5:22–23
- Colossians 3:12–17
- 1 Peter 1:15–16
5.11 Spiritual Gifts
We believe that the Holy Spirit distributes spiritual gifts to believers for the edification of the Church and the advancement of God's Kingdom.
These gifts are to be exercised in love, humility, and accordance with Scripture.
No particular spiritual gift is to be regarded as the universal evidence of spiritual maturity.
All gifts must operate in a manner that glorifies Christ and builds up His people.
Key Scriptures:
- Romans 12:3–8
- 1 Corinthians 12
- Ephesians 4:11–16
- 1 Peter 4:10–11
5.12 Evangelism and Missions
We believe that every believer shares in the responsibility of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Great Commission remains the mandate of the Church until Christ returns.
SDC fulfills this responsibility through:
- Biblical education.
- Digital communication.
- Christian publications.
- Leadership training.
- Community outreach.
- Ministry partnerships.
Key Scriptures:
- Matthew 28:18–20
- Mark 16:15
- Acts 1:8
- Romans 10:13–15
5.13 The Return of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ will personally, visibly, and gloriously return according to God's appointed time.
His return is the blessed hope of every believer and should motivate holy living, faithful service, and steadfast perseverance.
While Christians may differ on details of prophetic interpretation, SDC affirms the certainty of Christ's bodily return and the final fulfillment of God's redemptive plan.
Key Scriptures:
- John 14:1–3
- Acts 1:11
- 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18
- Revelation 22:12
5.14 Final Judgment and Eternal State
We believe that God has appointed a day of final judgment.
Those who have trusted in Jesus Christ will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.
Those who reject God's gracious offer of salvation will face eternal separation from Him.
God's justice and mercy will be perfectly revealed in His final judgment.
Key Scriptures:
- Matthew 25:31–46
- John 5:28–29
- Revelation 20:11–15
- Revelation 21:1–4
5.15 Doctrinal Integrity
Sunshine Destiny Communications is committed to teaching and defending the historic Christian faith as revealed in Scripture.
While maintaining charity in matters where faithful Christians hold differing views, SDC requires doctrinal integrity in essential matters of the Christian faith.
Educational materials, publications, and ministry programmes shall be evaluated according to their faithfulness to Scripture.
5.16 Conclusion
This Statement of Faith forms the doctrinal foundation of Sunshine Destiny Communications. It reflects the ministry's commitment to biblical orthodoxy, Christ-centered ministry, and faithful stewardship of the Gospel entrusted to the Church.
Every ministry undertaken by SDC shall seek to honor God by proclaiming His truth with grace, humility, and conviction.
"To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
— Ephesians 3:21
