0. Introduction
a) Hebrew law served as the personal and national guide for living under God's authority. It directed the moral, spiritual, and social life. Its purpose was to produce better understanding of God and commitment to him.
1. Word: "HUQQIM"
i) Meaning
@1. Statutes, oracles.
ii) Examples
@1. 4 You shall observe My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I am the Lord your God. (Leviticus 18:4 NKJV)
@2. “Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I teach you to observe, that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers is giving you. (Deuteronomy 4:1 NKJV)
iii) Significance
@1. Dealt with the royal pronouncements; mainly connected to worship and festivals.
2. Word: "PIQQUDIM"
i) Meaning
@1. Orders, precepts.
ii) Examples
@1. 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. (Psalms 19:8 NKJV)
@2. 18 To such as keep His covenant, And to those who remember His commandments to do them. (Psalms 103:18 NKJV)
iii) Significance
@1. Used often in the psalms to describe God's orders and assignments.

i) Meaning

i) Meaning
@1. Royal edict, public law.
ii) Examples
@1. 26 Disaster will come upon disaster, And rumor will be upon rumor. Then they will seek a vision from a prophet; But the law will perish from the priest, And counsel from the elders. (Ezekiel 7:26 NKJV)
@2. 8 Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.” (Daniel 6:8 NKJV)
