ABOUT ANGELS (6)

1. Bible Verses and Quotes

a) There are many different depictions of angels in the world today. We are fascinated by the idea of heavenly beings and it's not hard to find jewelry, art, or even garden decorations with tiny baby cherub or elegant beings. Many of us would be surprised to see what the Bible has to say about angels! These Bible verses about angels will give you a true picture of these heavenly beings.

John 20:11-12
but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb  and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.

Colossians 2:18
Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions.

Hebrews 1:14
Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

Hebrews 2:6-13
But there is a place where someone has testified: "What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?  You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor  and put everything under his feet." In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.  But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.  In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.  Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.  He says, "I will declare your name to my brothers; in the presence of the congregation I will sing your praises."  And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again he says, "Here am I, and the children God has given me."

Hebrews 13:2
Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.

2 Peter 2:4
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment.
