GOD'S SON IS BORN: PROPHECY FULFILLED
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. God's Son Is Born
a) God had sworn to Abraham and to David that the Christ would be born. The prophets indicated that Christ would be born in Bethlehem, of a virgin, while the Romans were in power. This came true when Jesus was born to Mary and God's Son became a human being.
b) The angel's statement to Mary (Luke 1:26-33) is made from the very perspective of the Times of Israel. The promised king — the Messiah or Christ — was to reign over Israel in an endless kingdom.
2. Prophecy Fulfilled
a) Virginal conception (Matthew 1:18-25, Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:26-38).
b) Seed of a woman (Galatians 4:4, Matthew 1:21, Genesis 3:15).
c) Seed of Abraham (Luke 1:72-73, Genesis 12:3, Genesis 22:16-18).
d) Seed of Isaac and Jacob (Luke 3:34, Genesis 17:19, Genesis 21:12, Numbers 24:17).
e) Of the tribe of Judah (Luke 3:34, Genesis 49:10).
f) Son of David (Matthew 1:1 2 Samuel 7:12-14).
g) Born in Bethlehem (Matthew 2:4-6, Micah 5:2).
h) Born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:26-28).
i) Infant in Egypt (Matthew 2:13-15, Hosea 11:1).
j) Massacre of children (Matthew 2:16-18, Jeremiah 31:15).
k) Boyhood in Nazareth (Matthew 2:23 - oral prophecy).
l) Declared God's Son (Psalms 2:7, Matthew 3:17, Luke 1:35).
m) Given the name above all names (Isaiah 9:6, Philippians 2:9).
n) Heir to David's throne (Isaiah 9:7, Luke 1:32-33, Acts 2:30-36).
o) Eternal God upon the throne (Psalms 45:6-7, Psalms 102:25-27, Hebrews 1:8-12).
The End ...
