THE DAY OF PENTECOST: BIBLE SUMMARY

1. The Day Of Pentecost
a) This period — Dawning of the New Israel — sees the kingdom of heaven come into being and spread across the world. The apostles were active in this time. This period covers about 70 years from the death of Jesus until the end of the first century.
b) It covers the seven weeks of the "beginning in Jerusalem" from Christ’s burial to the day of Pentecost. We look especially at what happened on the day of Pentecost, as being a key day in the establishment of God's new kingdom.
2. Bible Summary (Gospels And Acts)
@1. Burial (Matthew 27:57-61, Mark 15:42-47, Luke 23:50-56, John 19:38-42).
@2. Resurrection (Matthew 28, Mark 16 Luke 24, John 20 and 21).
@3. Jesus continues his ministry after his resurrection (Acts 1:1-3).
@4. The great commission (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-18, Luke 24:46-48).
@5. Disciples promised power from on high (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:7-8).
@6. Ascension (Mark 16:19, Luke 24:50-51, Acts 1:9-11).
@7. Disciples wait in Jerusalem (Luke 24:52-53, Acts 1:12-14).
@8. Judas replaced by Matthias (Acts 1:15-26).
@9. The apostles receive the promised power (Acts 2:1-4).
