OT PROPHECIES | JESUS (20)

IV. Jesus' burial, resurrection, ascension

1. Jesus would ascend to heaven and sit at God's right hand

a) Psalms 68:18, Acts 1:9, 2:32-33; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Mark 16:19; Ephesians 4:8-10

i) 18 You have ascended on high,
You have led captivity captive;
You have received gifts among men,
Even from the rebellious,
That the Lord God might dwell there. (Psalms 68:18 NKJV)

ii) 9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. (Acts 1:9 NKJV)

iii) 32 This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. 33 Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear. (Acts 2:32-33 NKJV)

iv) 3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 NKJV)

v) 19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. (Mark 16:19 NKJV)

vi) 8 Therefore He says:

“When He ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
And gave gifts to men.”

9 (Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.) (Ephesians 4:8-10 NKJV)
