2014 PROPHETIC FOUR (3)
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. What is God's 4-fold witness?
i) God's four-fold witness in the earth (Hebrews 2:4): three are impersonal (signs, wonders, and miracles), and one personal (the gifts of the Holy Spirit).
2. What are the 4 times God's word mentions RAINBOWS?
i) The rainbow, which has special reference to the earth and its judgment, is mentioned four times: twice in the Old Testament (Genesis 9 and Ezekiel 1:28) and twice in the New Testament (Revelation 4:3, 10:1).
ii) The fullness of material blessing in the earth is described in Isaiah 60:17: -
a) For brass I will bring gold.
b) For iron I will bring silver.
c) For wood I will bring brass.
d)For stones I will bring iron.
iii) The sphere of suffering is four-fold in 2 Corinthians 4:8, 9: -
a) Troubled, but not distressed.
b) Perplexed, but not in despair.
c) Persecuted, but not forsaken.
d) Cast down, but not destroyed.
iv) The prophecy of Zechariah which has special reference to the earth: -
a) In Chapter 1 we have the four horns or Gentile powers, and the four carpenters to fray them.
b) In chapter 4 we have the four chariots with horses of four colors, signifying the spirits of the heavens acting for God in the midst of the four Gentile powers.
3. What is the Oldest City in the World?
i) This is too large a subject to enter on here, but it is most significant that we get the number four in its concentrated form in connection with DAMASCUS, which is the oldest city in the world. The number of its name is 444.
ii) The name occurs 39 times, i.e., 3 x 13, for the significance of which see under the number 13.
4. Where is Eve mentioned by name?
i) Four times "Eve" mentioned in the Bible by name: -
a) Genesis 3:20
b) Genesis 4:1
c) 2 Corinthians 11:3
d) 1 Timothy 2:13
5. Additional Commentary
i) The Number 4 represents creation, which marks God’s creative works. It is the signature of the world.
ii) The material creation was finished on the 4th day — with the sun, moon and stars ordained for 4 things:
a) Signs
b) Seasons
c) Days
d) Years
iii) The 4th commandment, which is "Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy," was given to man at creation.
iv) There are 4 gospel accounts of Jesus’ life and ministry, each one of which emphasizes a different aspect of Jesus' ministry and sacrifice:
a) Matthew: Jesus as the Son of David and King
b) Mark: Jesus as the Suffering Servant
c) Luke: Jesus as the Perfect Man
d) John: Jesus as the Only Begotten Son of God.
