a) To learn what the Bible has to say on a variety of topics affecting our everyday lives, we may find what we are looking for here.
2. Lost
a) Who are the “lost,” and how does God respond to them? It’s in the Bible, Isaiah 53:6, TLB. “We are the ones who strayed away like sheep! We, who left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet God laid on him [Jesus] the guilt and sins of every one of us!”
b) “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16, NIV).
c) God seeks and cares for the lost. It's in the Bible, Ezekiel 34:16, NKJV. “I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong, and feed them in judgment.”
d) The lost are of great value to all of heaven. It’s in the Bible, Luke 15:7, TLB. “Heaven will be happier over one lost sinner who returns to God than over ninety-nine others who haven’t strayed away!”
e) Jesus came to save the lost. It’s in the Bible, Luke 19:10, NKJV. “The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
