1. Symbols Of Twelve Tribes

a) The Symbols of the Tribes are often depicted in Synagogues. The Book of Numbers tells us that each Tribe had its characteristic symbol used in its encampment.

Numbers 2:2  
2 “Everyone of the children of Israel shall camp by his own standard, beside the emblems of his father’s house; they shall camp some distance from the tabernacle of meeting. 

2. Levi 

a) Levi is depicted by the Priestly Breastplate i.e. the Urim and Tumim. The Levites and priests served in the Holy Temple. The Breastplate of the High Priest served as a kind of oracle. 

Deuteronomy 33:8  
8 And of Levi he said:
“Let Your Thummim and Your Urim be with Your holy one,
Whom You tested at Massah,
And with whom You contended at the waters of Meribah,
