THE ISAACHAR ANOINTING
1. The Issachar Anointing
a) We see Issachar was the observant one, being watchful and attentive to his surroundings. He was aware and understood the events around him, he understood the times and the seasons. Perhaps that is why God chose him to follow Judah as the second tribe when Israel moved behind the cloud.
b) We need the Issachar anointing to know what God is doing in the earth and how we fit into that plan. Where are we in the Scriptures? What is being fulfilled in our day?
c) When this outpouring comes we are not going to look back, we’re going to look ahead because what we establish here will take us right into the millennium. So we need the Issachar anointing so that we understand where we are in relation to where we are going.
d) This remnant of end-time believers will have their eyes opened to see the bigger picture of what God is doing in the earth, they will be illuminated with understanding. We have a plan, but God has a better plan. The Issachar anointing helps us to tap into Gods great plan.
e) Behind Judah is Issachar. The name Issachar means “there is a reward, wages, a payment, compensation.” Here is how Issachar got his name:
@1. Genesis 30:18
18 Leah said, “God has given me my wages, because I have given my maid to my husband.” So she called his name Issachar.
f) However, the Issachar anointing is not defined by his name, but by the word spoken over him by his father. Here is what Jacob, Issachar’s father, said when he blessed him and prophesied over him:
@1. Genesis 49:14-15
14 “Issachar is a strong donkey,
Lying down between two burdens;
15 He saw that rest was good,
And that the land was pleasant;
He bowed his shoulder to bear a burden,
And became a band of slaves.
g) Unfortunately for Issachar, his future would involve forced labor, but the main point here is his character trait of being watchful and attentive to his surroundings. He was aware and understood the events around him. Perhaps that is why God chose him to follow Judah as the second tribe when Israel moved behind the cloud.
