1. What does the Book of Proverbs say about Humility versus Pride?

a) Do you see persons wise in their own eyes? There is more hope for fools than for them. (Proverbs 26:12)

b) The lazy person is wiser in self-esteem than seven who can answer discreetly. (Proverbs 26:16) 

c) Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. Let another praise you, and not your own mouth a stranger, and not your own lips. (Proverbs 27:1-2) 

d) The rich is wise in self-esteem, but an intelligent poor person sees through the pose. (Proverbs 28:11)

e) The greedy person stirs up strife, but whoever trusts in the LORD will be enriched. (Proverbs 28:25)

f) A person’s pride will bring humiliation, but one who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. (Proverbs 29:23)

g) There are those who are pure in their own eyes yet are not cleansed of their filthiness.  There are those - how lofty are their eyes, how high their eyelids lift! (Proverbs 30:12-13)

h) If you have been foolish, exalting yourself, or if you have been devising evil, put your hand on your mouth. (Proverbs 30:32)
