GOD'S WILL: DOING OUT OF TRUST & OBEDIENCE (1)
(Message by Tanny Keng)
Romans 8:27
And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
2 Corinthians 8:1-6
We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints —and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us. Accordingly, we urged Titus that as he had started, so he should complete among you this act of grace.
Ephesians 6:5-7
Bond servants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bond servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man.
The End ...
1. God’s Will
a) There have been many books written to help people understand what the will of God is for their life. God’s will, in the Bible applies to all believers whereas God’s plan for your life may differ from someone else’s plan.
b) A pastor once told us that it is simple to understand God’s will for your life. All you have to do is answer 3 simple questions:
i) Is it Scriptural?
ii) Is it the desire of your heart?; and
iii) Is there a need?
c) If the answer “No” to any of these questions, then it is not God’s will or plan for you.
2. Doing Out of Trust and Obedience
Mark 3:34-35
And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.”
