GOD'S SON IS BORN: IN THE FLESH

(Message by Tanny Keng)

1. God's Son Is Born

a) God had sworn to Abraham and to David that the Christ would be born. The prophets indicated that Christ would be born in Bethlehem, of a virgin, while the Romans were in power. This came true when Jesus was born to Mary and God's Son became a human being.

b) The angel's statement to Mary (Luke 1:26-33) is made from the very perspective of the Times of Israel. The promised king — the Messiah or Christ — was to reign over Israel in an endless kingdom.

2. In The Flesh

a) In John chapter one the fact of the coming of the Son of God is stated most emphatically:

"The Word became flesh, and lived awhile among us, and we saw his splendor, the splendor of the Unique One, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)

b) The angel who spoke to Mary was also emphatic:

"And behold you shall conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call him Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High God. And the Lord will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will have no end." (Luke 1:26-33)

The End ...
