PRAYING GOD'S WILL | SERVING GOD (3)

1. Praying God's Will

a) What should you pray for? Scripture is clear that you should pray God's word. At the same time, you must never forget that God is sovereign and that He is not obligated to a name-it-and-claim-it theology. God will always do what is best. But at the same time you will do well to understand that when you pray God's word, you are actually praying both the mind and the perfect will of God for yourself.

b) If you follow a systematic plan of praying God's will, you will see dynamic growth take place in your life. You will become the man God intended you to be.

2. Serving God

a) Lord God, in accordance with Your perfect word I pray that I will walk after You and that I will serve You. Your word is clear that I cannot serve two masters. I ask You to use Your Holy Spirit to guide me and direct me in this area of my life in accordance with Your word. Thank You in Jesus' name. Amen.

3. God's Word

a) Exodus 23:25 New King James Version (NKJV)

25 “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.

b) Deuteronomy 10:12-13 New King James Version (NKJV)

12 “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good?

c) 1 Samuel 12:20-22 New King James Version (NKJV)

20 Then Samuel said to the people, “Do not fear. You have done all this wickedness; yet do not turn aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart. 21 And do not turn aside; for then you would go after empty things which cannot profit or deliver, for they are nothing. 22 For the Lord will not forsake His people, for His great name’s sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you His people.
