PRAYING GOD'S WILL | SPIRITUAL GROWTH (1)
1. Praying God's Will
a) What should you pray for? Scripture is clear that you should pray God's word. At the same time, you must never forget that God is sovereign and that He is not obligated to a name-it-and-claim-it theology. God will always do what is best. But at the same time you will do well to understand that when you pray God's word, you are actually praying both the mind and the perfect will of God for yourself.
b) If you follow a systematic plan of praying God's will, you will see dynamic growth take place in your life. You will become the man God intended you to be.
2. Spiritual Growth
Lord Jesus, there is no more powerful prayer that I can pray than to pray the word of God directly from the pages of the Bible. That is what I now do as I pray for my spiritual growth. I pray that I will take heed to myself and keep myself in accordance with Your word. Thank You for honoring Your words that I pray to You now. Amen.
3. God's Word
a) Hebrews 3:12-13 New King James Version (NKJV)
12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
b) Deuteronomy 8:11 New King James Version (NKJV)
11 “Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today.
c) Deuteronomy 8:18 New King James Version (NKJV)
18 “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
d) Psalm 44:20-21 New King James Version (NKJV)
20 If we had forgotten the name of our God,
Or stretched out our hands to a foreign god,
21 Would not God search this out?
For He knows the secrets of the heart.
e) 2 Peter 2:20 New King James Version (NKJV)
20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.
