GOSPEL ACCOUNTS FOUND ONLY IN LUKE (3)

0. Introduction
a) Doctor Luke gives us the most detailed account of Jesus' birth. In describing Jesus' birth, childhood, and development, doctor Luke lifts up the humanity of Jesus. Our Savior was the ideal human. Fully prepared, the ideal human was now ready to live the perfect life.
b) Nevertheless, below is one of the Gospel accounts found only in Luke.
1. Herod puts John in prison.

a) Luke 3:19-20
i) 18 And with many other exhortations he preached to the people. 19 But Herod the tetrarch, being rebuked by him concerning Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done, 20 also added this, above all, that he shut John up in prison. (Luke 3:19-20 NKJV)
