0. Introduction

a) Proverbs often compares the life-styles of the wicked and the righteous, and makes a strong case for living by God's pattern. The advantages of righteous living and the disadvantages of wicked living are pointed out. The kind of person we decide to be will affect every area of our lives.

1. Eternal expectations

#1) Righteous: "Attain life"

a) Wicked

i) Go to death (Proverbs 11:19)

b) Text reference: Proverbs 11:19

i) 19 As righteousness leads to life, So he who pursues evil pursues it to his own death. (Proverbs 11:19 NKJV)

#2) Righteous: "End only in good"

a) Wicked

i) End only in wrath (Proverbs 11:23)

i) 23 The desire of the righteous is only good, But the expectation of the wicked is wrath. (Proverbs 11:23 NKJV)

#3) Righteous: "Will stand firm"

a) Wicked

i) Will be overthrown (Proverbs 12:7)

i) 7 The wicked are overthrown and are no more, But the house of the righteous will stand. (Proverbs 12:7 NKJV)

#4) Righteous: "Have a refuge when they die"

a) Wicked

i) Will be banished in wickedness (Proverbs 14:32)

i) 32 The wicked is banished in his wickedness, But the righteous has a refuge in his death. (Proverbs 14:32 NKJV)

2. God's opinion of them

#1) Righteous: "Delight in the good"

a) Wicked

i) Detests the perverse (Proverbs 11:20)

i) 20 Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the Lord, But the blameless in their ways are His delight. (Proverbs 11:20 NKJV)

#2) Righteous: "Evil people will bow to them"

a) Wicked

i) They will bow to the good (Proverbs 14:19)
