 1. Definition of abuse

a) To use wrongly or improperly; misuse alcohol or a privilege.

b) To hurt or injure by maltreatment; ill-use.
 
c) To force sexual activity on; rape or molest.
 
d) To assail with contemptuous, coarse, or insulting words; revile.
 
e) To deceive or trick.

2. How do we get past this abuse problem?

a) Forgive. We know this is tough. The abused has been through the helplessness and the horrible emotional roller-coaster of abuse that tears at his or her stomach, torments and mind, robs his or her of the ability to enjoy food and sleep. We want you to read this about forgiveness - and let us build a foundation for you to safely rest on...

31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

b) This is very difficult, because those who have abused you , may have no clue as to the damage they have done, or they may no longer be living.

c) But "forgiveness" is for your personal healing, not theirs. Forgiveness breaks the control. Forgiveness releases you from the poison destroying you on the inside.

i) Forgiveness released, eliminates bitterness

ii) Forgiveness stops the "revenge" surge

d) We cannot tell you exactly the emotions that misuse has damaged in your self-esteem or self-worth, but we do know that the Holy Spirit of GOD can, and will repair the damage inside and release all bitterness, hate, revenge and anger - and allow you to go on without these "nooses around your neck" - seeking to strangle your emotions and well-being every day.

3. Get rid of revenge and the wrong people around you

a) You must give up the "I will get even" script. This only destroys your peace and health. Give the revenge and "payback" to GOD. Let Him handle it.


b) Walk away from all wrong and abusive relationships. Wrong people in your life cause bad things to happen. Get the wrong people out of your life, and wrong things will stop happening to you.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
 
a) Replace the destructive thoughts with the Word of GOD. The Holy Spirit of GOD will help you.

b) We never suggested it would be easy - just that it will be worthwhile to get your life back and begin a new journey into the future...
