1. Love One Another
a) Sometimes it is very difficult to love someone. Sure, it's easy to love the lovely people; but what about those unlovely people that we come in contact with sometimes on a daily basis?
b) Sometimes an entire family is struggling because no one has ever taught them the proper roles in the family unit and how important it is to stay within the roles because we love one another and because we love the Lord. This is wen we look to the Bible for what it says about how to love one another.
2. Begins with Loving God
a) In the Old Testament we see the Ten Commandments as given to Moses in Exodus 20. In the New Testament when Jesus was questioned by the Sadducees regarding which is the greatest of the commandments He said that all of the commandments can be wrapped into just two. This first one encompasses the first four of the original Ten Commandments, they deal with loving God. Take a look at what Jesus said:
Mark 12:28-30
And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
