SEVEN TRUTHS: THE GLORY OF JESUS

1. Seven Truths  

a) When we read between the lines of Paul's letter to the Colossians, we see that a heresy was developing in Colosse.

b) The heresy evidently denied or undermined certain truths concerning Jesus Christ. Paul strongly counters the heresy by teaching at least seven truths about Jesus Christ.

c) Here is one of the truths.

2. The Glory Of Jesus

a) We conclude with a lyrical passage (Colossians 3:1-4) in which Paul calls us to seek nothing but Christ and his glory in whom our lives are hidden. It may be that false teachers were beginning to distract people from this simplicity by claiming to have secret and hidden knowledge.

3 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
