1. Adventures Of Elijah

a) In the time of the divided kingdom, God sent his prophet Elijah. Elijah was one of the great Old Testament prophets.

2. Bible Summary (1 Kings 17-22, 2 Kings 1-2)

a) 1 Kings

@1. Elijah has power to control the weather (1 Kings 17).

@2. He is fed by ravens (1 Kings 17).

@3. Elijah visits the widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17).

@4. Her flour and oil miraculously do not run out (1 Kings 17).

@5. Her son is brought back to life (1 Kings 17).

@6. Elijah meets Obadiah, sends him reassured to Ahab (1 Kings 18).

@7. Ahab goes to Elijah. Elijah challenges him (1 Kings 18).

@8. Elijah confronts and kills the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18).

@9. Elijah causes a drought-breaking downpour of rain (1 Kings 18).

@10. Jezebel (Ahab's wife) threatens Elijah (1 Kings 19).

@11. Elijah flees, and again eats miraculous food (1 Kings 19).

@12. Elijah goes to Horeb (Mount Sinai), talks to God (1 Kings 19).

@13. Elisha becomes Elijah's disciple and follows him (1 Kings 19).

@14. God helps Ahab to defeat Ben-hadad king of Syria (1 Kings 20).

@15. A prophet condemns Ahab for letting Ben-hadad go (1 Kings 20).

@16. Jezebel plots against Naboth to get his vineyard for Ahab (1 Kings 21).

@17. Elijah condemns Ahab and Jezebel (1 Kings 21).

@18. Ahab humbles himself and God spares him (1 Kings 21).

@19. Jehoshaphat good king of Judah visits Ahab king of Israel (1 Kings 22).

@20. Micaiah the prophet speaks against Ahab (1 Kings 22).

@21. Ahab dies in an ill-advised battle (1 Kings 22).

@22. After Ahab, Ahaziah becomes king of Israel (1 Kings 22).

@23. After Jehoshaphat, Jehoram becomes king of Judah (1 Kings 22).

b) 2 Kings

@1. Ahaziah consults Baal-Zebub. Elijah condemns him (2 Kings 1).

@2. After Ahaziah, Jehoram becomes king of Israel (2 Kings 1).

@3. Elijah is taken up into heaven by a whirlwind (2 Kings 2).

@4. Elisha takes up the mantle and work of Elijah (2 Kings 2).
