a) To learn what the Bible has to say on a variety of topics affecting our everyday lives, we may find what we are looking for here.
2. Ten Commandments
a) The law is unchanging. It's in the Bible, Matthew 5:17-18, KJV. "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
b) The law is eternal. It's in the Bible, Psalm 111:7,8, NKJV. "The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness."
c) God's law offers direction, not justification. It's in the Bible, Galatians 2:15-16, NIV. "A man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified."
d) It is our duty to obey God's law. It's in the Bible, Ecclesiastes 12:13, NIV. "Here is the conclusion of the matter. Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man."
e) What is the connection between the law and sin? It's in the Bible, I John 3:4, NIV. "Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness."
