THE STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Church
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all who have been redeemed by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Christ alone is the Head of the Church, and every believer is united to Him through the indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit.
The Church is both universal and local. The universal Church consists of all true believers throughout every generation, nation, language, and culture. The local church is the visible gathering of believers who assemble regularly for worship, prayer, the preaching and teaching of God's Word, the observance of the ordinances, mutual encouragement, fellowship, discipleship, and Gospel witness.
The Church exists to glorify God by worshipping Him, proclaiming the Gospel, making disciples, nurturing believers toward spiritual maturity, demonstrating Christian love, and serving the world in the name of Jesus Christ.
The New Testament presents the Church as a living spiritual family rather than merely an institution. Every believer has been entrusted with spiritual gifts for the common good, and every member shares responsibility for the growth, unity, purity, and witness of Christ's Body.
We affirm the importance of faithful participation in the life of a local church. While SDC serves believers through education, publications, leadership development, and ministry partnerships, it does not replace the biblical role and ministry of the local church. Rather, SDC exists to strengthen churches by equipping their members and leaders for more effective service.
We therefore encourage every person associated with SDC to remain actively committed to a biblically faithful local congregation where they may worship, serve, receive pastoral care, and participate in the fellowship of believers.

The Ordinances of the Church
We believe that Jesus Christ instituted two ordinances for His Church: Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
These ordinances do not impart saving grace but serve as visible testimonies of the Gospel and expressions of obedient faith.
Baptism
We believe that Christian baptism is an act of obedience commanded by Jesus Christ for those who have personally repented of sin and placed their faith in Him.
Baptism publicly identifies the believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It symbolises the believer's union with Christ, forgiveness of sins, and commitment to walk in newness of life.
While SDC recognises that faithful Christian traditions differ regarding the mode and timing of baptism, we affirm the importance of baptism as a public confession of faith and encourage every believer to obey Christ's command concerning this ordinance according to biblical conviction.
The Lord's Supper
We believe that the Lord's Supper was instituted by Jesus Christ as a continual remembrance of His sacrificial death until He returns.
Through the bread and the cup, believers proclaim the Lord's death, reflect upon His saving grace, examine their own hearts, and renew their commitment to faithful discipleship.
Participation should be approached with reverence, gratitude, repentance, and faith.
The Lord's Supper proclaims the Gospel, strengthens the fellowship of believers, and directs our hope toward the glorious return of Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Gifts and Ministry
We believe that the Holy Spirit sovereignly distributes spiritual gifts to every believer for the building up of the Body of Christ and the advancement of God's Kingdom.
These gifts are entrusted for service rather than personal recognition. Their purpose is to glorify Christ, strengthen the Church, encourage believers, and support the proclamation of the Gospel.
The New Testament teaches a diversity of gifts, ministries, and callings. No single gift is possessed by every believer, nor should any one gift become the sole measure of spiritual maturity.
Spiritual maturity is demonstrated primarily through Christlike character, obedience to Scripture, love for God, love for others, humility, and the fruit of the Holy Spirit rather than the possession or public exercise of any particular gift.
We affirm that God continues to work powerfully through the Holy Spirit according to His sovereign will. At the same time, we believe that every claimed spiritual manifestation, prophetic message, miraculous event, or ministry practice must be carefully evaluated in the light of Holy Scripture.
Because God is not the author of confusion, all public ministry should be conducted with reverence, biblical order, and a desire to edify the Church.
Within SDC, spiritual gifts are encouraged, nurtured, and exercised under biblical accountability, doctrinal discernment, and servant-hearted leadership.

Christian Living and Holiness
We believe that every believer is called to live a life that reflects the holiness, love, and righteousness of God.
Salvation not only delivers believers from the penalty of sin but also begins the lifelong process of sanctification through which the Holy Spirit progressively conforms them to the image of Christ.
Christian holiness is not achieved through human effort alone but through continual dependence upon God's grace, the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, faithful obedience to Scripture, and participation in the fellowship of God's people.
Believers are called to cultivate lives characterised by prayer, worship, humility, integrity, compassion, generosity, forgiveness, purity, self-control, and faithful service.
We reject every form of legalism that attempts to earn God's favour through external observances. Likewise, we reject moral compromise that seeks to excuse sinful behaviour under the guise of Christian liberty.
Biblical freedom is freedom to love, obey, worship, and serve God joyfully.
Every follower of Christ should seek to honour Him in personal conduct, family relationships, vocational responsibilities, financial stewardship, public witness, and community life.
Because believers represent Christ before the world, their conduct should consistently reflect the transforming power of the Gospel.

Marriage and Family
We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant established by God from the beginning of creation. According to Scripture, marriage is the lifelong covenantal union of one man and one woman, entered into freely before God and intended to reflect the faithful relationship between Christ and His Church.
The family is the foundational institution of human society and serves as the primary environment for spiritual nurture, discipleship, moral formation, and mutual care.
Husbands and wives are called to love one another sacrificially, to demonstrate mutual honour and faithfulness, and to fulfil their God-given responsibilities with humility and grace.
Parents bear the sacred responsibility of raising their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Children are called to honour and respect their parents as an expression of obedience to God.
We also affirm the dignity and value of single believers, recognising that both marriage and singleness are honoured in Scripture as gifts through which God may be glorified.
The Christian family should reflect the character of Christ through love, forgiveness, hospitality, integrity, and faithful stewardship.

The Return of Jesus Christ
We believe in the personal, bodily, visible, and glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Second Coming is the blessed hope of the Church and the culmination of God's redemptive plan. At His return, Christ will establish His righteous reign, bring history to its appointed conclusion, judge all humanity with perfect justice, and consummate His eternal Kingdom.
While Scripture provides important prophetic revelation concerning future events, it does not reveal the precise time of Christ's return. Therefore, believers are called not to speculation but to faithful readiness, holy living, diligent service, and confident hope.
Our expectation of Christ's return should inspire perseverance in ministry, faithfulness in discipleship, and urgency in the proclamation of the Gospel.

Final Judgment
We believe that God has appointed a day when Jesus Christ will judge all people with perfect righteousness.
Those who have trusted in Christ alone for salvation will enjoy eternal fellowship with God, not because of their own merit but because of His redeeming grace.
Those who reject God's gracious offer of salvation will remain under His righteous judgment.
God's judgment is perfectly holy, perfectly just, and perfectly consistent with His character. No injustice, hidden motive, or secret act escapes His knowledge.
This doctrine reminds believers to live responsibly before God, recognising that every life will ultimately be evaluated by the One whose judgments are true and righteous.

The New Heavens and the New Earth
We believe that God's redemptive purpose will reach its glorious fulfilment in the creation of the new heavens and the new earth, where righteousness dwells.
The present creation, affected by sin and its consequences, will give way to God's renewed creation in which His people will dwell with Him forever.
There will be no more death, mourning, pain, suffering, or tears. God's presence will fill the new creation, and His redeemed people will worship and serve Him throughout eternity.
This future hope strengthens believers during present trials and motivates faithful perseverance in ministry. The certainty of God's eternal Kingdom assures us that our labour in the Lord is never in vain.
The Christian life is therefore lived with both present responsibility and future expectation, serving faithfully while eagerly awaiting the fulfilment of God's promises.

Our Doctrinal Commitment
The Statement of Faith contained in this handbook is more than a theological summary. It is the doctrinal foundation upon which Sunshine Destiny Communications conducts its ministry.
Every educational programme, publication, leadership appointment, ministry partnership, policy, and public teaching shall be consistent with these biblical convictions.
At the same time, we acknowledge that faithful Christians may hold differing views on certain secondary matters of doctrine. Where such differences exist, SDC is committed to maintaining humility, charity, respectful dialogue, and unity in the essential truths of the Christian faith.
Our unity is not founded upon complete agreement in every theological detail but upon our shared confession that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Scriptures are God's inspired Word, and the Gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.
As stewards of the truth entrusted to us, we commit ourselves to proclaim, defend, teach, and faithfully apply the Word of God so that Christ may be glorified, His Church strengthened, and future generations established in the faith once delivered to the saints.
