GOD'S FINAL WARNINGS BEFORE JESUS' RETURN (5)
(Message by Tanny Keng)
0. Introduction
a) What warnings will God give man before the great tribulation occurs? What warnings to repent will he offer during the heavenly signs, plagues, and other painful events that happen before the second coming of Jesus? Who will give these admonishments to the entire world? Has man ALREADY been told he needs to change his ways and begin to obey the Creator of the universe?
b) God says there have been many witnesses already extant in the world. For instance, let us look in Colossians the first chapter and read about a witness the apostle Paul discusses.
i) "if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister." (Colossians 1:23)
c) Prophets came with another type of witness. A prophet would tell Israel, "Don't do this. Don't do this." The prophets and preachers of righteousness have their place but they are NOT the ultimate witness.
i) "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them . . . " (Romans 1:18-20)
1. Repentance in the End Time
a) Let's now go to Revelation 16.
i) 8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to burn people with its fiery heat. 9 They were burned by the fierce heat, and they cursed the name of God, who has authority over these plagues. But they would not turn from their sins and praise his greatness. (Revelation 16)
b) There are certain people who are not going to repent. But, evidently, all through this time there ARE others who are finally repenting. Revelation goes on to state about the unrepentant:
i) "and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they DID NOT REPENT OF THEIR DEEDS . . ." (Revelation 16:11-12)
c) Even within the last plagues God gives man a chance to repent and change his ways!
The End ...
