MOUNTAINS OF THE BIBLE 7: MOUNT ARARAT
(Message by Tanny Keng)
a) Mountains are mentioned more than 500 times in the Bible. While they have a significant symbolic value, mountains first and foremost were part of the physical landscape of biblical times.
b) Mountains have a logical religious symbolism for biblical cultures since they are “closer to God” who was believed to dwell in the sky and the heavens.
c) As a result, God often reveals himself on the mountaintop and we hear people today talk about their own "mountain top" experiences in their spiritual journeys.
d) So, put your climbing gear in your pack and let's head out on a hike through the mountains of the Bible.

a) The ark rests on Mount Ararat for Noah's deliverance from the great flood.
Genesis 8:1-5 New King James Version (NKJV)
8 Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided. 2 The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained. 3 And the waters receded continually from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters decreased. 4 Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat. 5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.
The End ...
