GOD BLAMES PEOPLE FOR THEIR IGNORANCE
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. Ignorance And Innocence
a) How does God view sins committed in ignorance? Does he deem a person innocent who sins without realizing it?
b) If I am ignorant in my heart, am I therefore innocent in my heart?
2. God Blames People For Their Ignorance
2 Peter 2:12
12 But these, like unreasoning animals, born as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, reviling where they have no knowledge, will in the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed.
Ephesians 4:17-20
17 So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; 19 and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. 20 But you did not learn Christ in this way.
a) These are strong condemnations of ignorance. In some cases people are willfully ignorant, and their ignorance is their own fault.
