a) A chronology of Bible and World events helps us appreciate history better in a holistic perspective and will also provide insight with better understanding for us.

a) Bible Event:
i) Paul martyred.
2. Date: 68
a) World Event:
i) Romans destroyed a Jewish religious commune of the Essene sect. Before the Essenes were captured they hid their library of Bible manuscripts in a cave in Qumran by the Dead Sea (discovered in 1948).
3. Date: 70
a) Bible Event:
i) Romans destroyed Jerusalem.
4. Date: 73
a) Bible Event:
i) 960 Jews commit mass suicide at Masada while under Roman attack.

i) China opens silk trade with the west.

i) Rome begins construction of famous Colosseum.

i) Mount Vesuvius in Italy erupts, killing 30,000 people and burying cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
