0. Introduction

a) Proverbs often compares the life-styles of the wicked and the righteous, and makes a strong case for living by God's pattern. The advantages of righteous living and the disadvantages of wicked living are pointed out. The kind of person we decide to be will affect every area of our lives.

1. Short-term results

#1) Righteous: "Walk securely"

a) Wicked

i) Will be found out (Proverbs 10:9)

i) 9 He who walks with integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will become known. (Proverbs 10:9 NKJV)

#2) Righteous: "Repaid with good"

a) Wicked

i) Pursued by evil (Proverbs 13:21)

b) Text reference: Proverbs 13:21

i) 21 Evil pursues sinners, But to the righteous, good shall be repaid. (Proverbs 31:21 NKJV)

2. Long-term results

#1) Righteous: "God protects them"

a) Wicked

i)  God destroys them (Proverbs 10:29)

ii) Will be punished for rebellion (Proverbs 17:11)

i) 29 The way of the Lord is strength for the upright, But destruction will come to the workers of iniquity. (Proverbs 10:29 NKJV)

ii) 11 An evil man seeks only rebellion; Therefore a cruel messenger will be sent against him. (Proverbs 17:11 NKJV)

3. Eternal expectations

#1) Righteous: "Never removed"

a) Wicked

i) Will not remain (Proverbs 10:30)

i) 30 The righteous will never be removed, But the wicked will not inhabit the earth. (Proverbs 10:30 NKJV)

#2) Righteous: "Earn a sure reward"

a) Wicked

i) Earn deceptive wages (Proverbs 11:18)

i) 18 The wicked man does deceptive work, But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward. (Proverbs 11:18 NKJV)
