0. Introduction
a) The Bible says God (the Father and the Word who later became Jesus Christ) used what they looked like as a pattern for creating man: "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness . . ." (Genesis 1:26). Although composed of spirit, the Godhead used themselves as the master template from which humans came into existence.
1. Some of the attributes of God's Holy, perfect (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 18:30; Matthew 5:48) character are:
a) He is Good (Matthew 5: 25; Romans 2:4; Acts. 14:17)
b) He is the very definition of love (John 3:16; Romans 15:30; 1John 4:8)
c) He is the truth (Deuteronomy 34:2; John 17:3, 17; 1John 5:20)
d) Faithfulness (1Corinthians 10:13; 2Corinthians 1:20; Hebrews 6: 18)
e) Comforter (Isaiah 51:12; 2Corinthians 1:4; 7:6)
f) He is a Deliverer (2Samuel 2:22; Psalm 40:17; Romans 11:26) and Preserver (Psalm 12:6-7; 30:3; 41:2)
g) He heals (Psalm 103:3; Exodus 15:26; 23:38; Isaiah 33:24; 35:5-6; James 5:14-15)
h) He helps (Hebrews 13:6; Psalm 37:40; 46:5; Isaiah 50:7,9)
i) He is very Life (Jeremiah 10:10; John 5:26; Hebrews 7:16; Revelation 11:11)
j) Peace flows from him (Galatians 5:22)
k) He has self-control (Galatians 5:22)
