1. India has a total land and water area of 3,287,263 square kilometers, which is ranked 7th in the world. The country is about one-third the size of America. Its population is 1,220,800,359 makes it the earth's second most populous nation. It also emits the fourth largest amount of Carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
2. Iran has a total land and water area of 1,648,195 square kilometers. The country is somewhat smaller than the state of Alaska. It possesses the fifth largest proven crude oil reserves and the third biggest natural gas reserves in the world.
3. Japan has a total land and water area of 377,915 square kilometers. The country is slightly smaller than the state of California. It is the fourth largest importer of crude oil and the third largest importer of natural gas.
4. Kazakhstan has a total land and water area of 2,724,900 square kilometers, which is ranked 9th in the world. The country is roughly four times the size of the state of Texas. Its population of 17,736,896 ranks 61st in the world. The country also has the 12th largest crude oil reserves with 30 billion barrels.
5. North Korea has a total land and water area of 120,538 square kilometers. The country is a bit smaller than the state of Mississippi. Its population is 24,720,407. The nation has no known crude oil reserves.
6. Russia has a total land and water area of 17,098,242 square kilometers and is the largest nation on earth. The country is just under twice the size of the United States. Its population of 142,500,482 ranks 9th. Russia has the second largest Natural Gas reserves and is the world's second biggest producer of oil.
7. South Korea has a total land and water area of 99,720 square kilometers. The country is just slightly bigger than the state of Indiana. Its population is 48,955,203, which compared to the world ranks 25th. The two biggest religions represented in the country are Christianity and Buddhism.
