STOKE THE FIRE!
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. Stoke the Fire!
a) The word "stoke" means to poke, stir up, fan into flame the fire.
b) A campfire that may die out but underneath, the embers are still red hot. The embers radiate heat long after the fire is out and may easily ignite again if they were stoked, poked or if the wind blew upon them. The embers are smoldering which means that they are still burning, yet without a flame.
c) Leviticus 9:23-24 show how God supernaturally sent fire on the altar for the burnt offerings. Although the fire was kindled by God Himself, the priests had to continually keep it from ever dying out. This required a regular removal of the ashes and anything which would prevent the fire from burning. Some of you need the fire of God ignited in your life once again. It is time for us to remove anything that is preventing this fire from being rekindled.
2. Bible Verses
Leviticus 6:13
13 Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.
Leviticus 9:23-24
23 And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and when they came out they blessed the people, and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people. 24 And fire came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the pieces of fat on the altar, and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.
Romans 12:1
1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
2 Timothy 1:6
6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
The End ...
